The foundation of dental health
It is advised by the American Dental Association that you visit your dentist every 6 months for a regular checkup. During your checkups, our team of dental professionals will check the soft tissues of the mouth for oral cancer, signs or symptoms of periodontal disease and other oral health issues. We will also examine every tooth for damage or signs of decay and also check any old dental treatments. Occasionally, old dental work may wear out and need to be redone. Should you wish, we would be happy to replace old metal crowns, inlays, onlays or fillings with an alternative tooth colored compound.
Checkups could be a lifesaver!
Your potential for developing serious dental problems is greatly reduced by simply visiting your dentist twice a year. For example, if left untreated, a small area of decay could grow to destroy a whole tooth and even spread to other teeth. A small crack left undetected can grow, causing pain or even breaking off and create other serious issues. Advanced periodontal disease is the main cause of tooth loss for adults in America and statistics show that over 7,500 deaths every year are attributed to oral cancer. All of these problems and diseases can be controlled if detected early and treated appropriately.
